Project Officer (項目主任)

Founded in 2008 by William Lane, the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble (HKNME) is Asia's premiere new music group, dedicated to presenting contemporary music to the highest possible standard. The Ensemble has led numerous world and regional premieres of important contemporary works — a number of which were commissioned by the HKNME — at prestigious music festivals and venues around the world. The HKNME has been annually funded by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council since 2012.

 

Suitable candidates are invited to apply to join the Ensemble’s dynamic team in the role of:


 

Project Officer (full-time)


 

Contract period

1 November 2022 to 31 January 2024 (15 months)

Start and end dates can be flexible. 


 

Salary

HK$16,000 - 19,000 per month (depending on qualifications and experience) 


 

Main Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the Artistic & Managing Director, administrative team and artistic collaborators in the implementation and execution of special projects;

  • To assist the Production Manager in facilitating efficient workflow;

  • To assist the Accounting Executive in book-keeping of projects; and

  • To provide support to the Administrative team in ad-hoc tasks when required.


 

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience, preferably in managing performing arts productions;

  • Holder of a university degree in Arts Management or a relevant discipline;

  • Willingness and flexibility to work outside normal office hours during event periods;

  • Good organisational skills in project management, with an eye for detail and sharp analytical skills;

  • Solid bookkeeping skills [Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, online accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks or Xero) is highly desirable]

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Chinese;

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Google Workspace apps; and

  • Interest in the contemporary arts is preferred.
